After two years at the Camp Hill
School of Arts the cabaret had out grown this venue and so
moved to the Blind Association Hall at South Brisbane. The
owners of the Blind Hall became extremely difficult to deal
with especially after the hall was sold to one of the Orthodox
churches and so after three years at the Blind Hall the CWC
cabarets moved again. This time to the current location of
the Holy Trinity Church Hall in Fortitude Valley.
The CWC had
a series of presidents, including Ian Davies and finally
to Ross Thompson in about 1997. Ross was later joined
by Des Kay. By about the year 2000 there were only a handful
of members of the CWC with the cabarets put on largely through
the help
of a large band of very willing helpers and friends.
In 2003, Des and Ross handed the running of the CWC cabarets
to QPP/Qld Pride when the costs of running cabarets became
much too difficult, mainly due to the soaring costs of third
party insurance and the need to comply with the stricter requirements
of Occupational Health and Safety.
